The June 2018 Cover Story of Pilipinas Ngayon Na Business and Lifestyle Magazine features the article of  Wendell Gaa  concerning the on and off  NOKOR-U.S. Summit between North Korea President Kim Jong-Un and the President of the United States of America Donald Trump, which happened at long last,  on June 12, 2018.



ABOUT THE AUTHOR



Wendell Gaa is currently working as a Desk Assistant for the Socio-Cultural Division of the Office of United Nations and International Organizations (UNIO) of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Pasay City, Philippines.  Newly transferred there since May 2018, he was previously assigned with the office’s Peace and Security Division from March 2017.  Prior to that, Wendell was assigned with the Political/Economic/Visa Section of the Philippine Consulate General in New York for 6 years, where he worked with senior officials to successfully help accomplish notable initiatives towards benefiting the Fil-Am community, such as the approval and awarding of the Congressional Gold Medal to Filipino World War II veterans.  

Son of the late Ambassador Willy C. Gaa, former PH envoy to the U.S. in Washington D.C. (2006-2011), Wendell spent much of his formative years growing up in his father’s U.S. posting assignments: San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles.  In later years, he enjoyed visiting his parents in their foreign diplomatic assignments in Tripoli, Libya; Canberra, Australia, and Beijing, China.        

A 1994 graduate of Glendale Adventist Academy in Southern California, he went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Media at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, in 1998.  Additionally, he has also taken up diplomatic and history courses at the Foreign Service Institutes in the Philippines, Malaysia and India, and at the University of Debrecen in Hungary.   

His hobbies include travelling, photography, eating out at diverse restaurants, watching movies, reading history books and magazines, Dan Brown novels, and of course, writing.
